The City Clerk, Lorene Gutierrez is elected to a four year term and works with the Chief Deputy City Clerk/Records Manager, who is responsible for the day to day operations of the office.

The Office is entrusted with ensuring that the legislative process in the City of El Monte is both open and public as it relates to City election, City council meeting and commission gatherings.

The division has full responsibility for maintaining all ordinances, resolutions and other official City documents; conducting municipal election; administering oaths; maintaining the City of El Monte Municipal Code; and administering campaign disclosures of the economic interest.

The City Clerk’s Office would be happy to mail any City of El Monte resident a Voter Registration Form. Please call us at (626) 580-2016 for information. You must file a new Voter Registration Form each time you move or if you have never registered before. You must be registered to vote at least 15 days prior to the election in which you intend to vote. If you do not live in Los Angeles County, please contact the county Registrar of Voters in the county that you reside.

  City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, located at 11333 E. Valley Boulevard, City Hall East. 
When are the El Monte Community Redevelopment Agency Meetings held?
  The Agency meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the Administrative Office Conference Room, located at 11333 E. Valley Boulevard, City Hall East.
